Seemed easy enough; Jack the bike up, take out the rear shock, take out the old fan, put the new one in.

Should have know it wasn't going to be that easy when 2 of the bolts could only be reached by the T-27 in the Buell tool kit...

But the fan did come right out. Unbolted the grill from the fan only to find the replacement fan didn't have a bolt hole to bolt the grill on... But... the grill was also held on by other bolts once it was in place.

Getting the replacement fan in place was where the real fun started. It did NOT go in quite as easy as it came out... I was dripping sweat everywhere due to the FABOLUS (not) Florida weather... Finally got the fan in place and the holes didn't really line up so I had to put it in without using on of the bolts in the pattern.

I should note I saw the O2 sensor and it would have been best to leave the bike disassmbled to replace it. Great, except for the fact I did not have a replacement O2 sensor and the bike was hanging in the doorway of my shed....

Did I mention I rolled my ankle (the one I messed up last year at Road Atlanta) coming off the stairs?

carefully when reinstalling the upper shock bolt. I was following the manual, used specified tq and stripped out the threads in the aluminum mounting point.
