I was wondering if any one has relocated this sensor, and how it was done, I had a friend that relocated it on his X1 but i was wondering if any of us has done some relocation to have a more correct temperature accuracy once engine is hot. Thanks | ||

The engine needs to know the air temp. It already knows the engine temperature, so it can make speed density adjustments. I would not try to make the sensor more "accurate". Buell put it where they did for a reason. If you try to make it read closer to engine temperature, you'll likely confuse the crap out of your computer. Or perhaps I misunderstood the question? Now, having said that, I have removed my intake snorkel as part of the Buell Race kit installation. The sensor gets relocated since it originally sat in the snorkel, but it isn't moved very far. Still near the throttle body, but not touching any hot engine parts. Could your buddy have installed a race kit, and that is why he moved the sensor? | ||

Make sure that it gets a taste of what the engine is inhaling. It will run "OK" with the sensor some odd place but the enine will be better off if it can accurately determine how dense the air is. Remeber that these things have no mass flow air sensor and the computer has to extrapolate the info with temperature, throttle opening, and RPM. | ||
