Hey all,

Now that I have ripped apart the ULY to do the 2010 wheel, belt and new tire while at it I kinda thought I would be able to refurb my 2 bearing wheel and have it sittin ready to bolt on when needed for rubber changes. Well DUH, I need a pulley and brake disc to do that or I will be creatin a lot of work and wear and tear on bolts. HAhahaaaaaa.

So anyone here dropped down or gone up on a rear pulley size and want to let theirs go cheap. The disc is cheap enough but pulleys are kinda high!

Man I hope I get it back together! PLUS, NO WAY IN HELL I am doing a belt along the side of the road. Way to many tools, hammers and crap needed. I will take the spare belt and have someone else do it in a shop. Screw rippin it apart on a dirt road or interstate. You guy's CRAZY? HAhahaaaaa.

You are doing it wrong then. Torx 27, a few allen keys, and about 30 minutes later you are on the road again. I've done it.

Where did you pack the jack at on the bike? HAhahaaaaaaa.

The screws were so damn tight I went through 3 # 27's and only sorta buggered one of the cover screws. Just a lot of stuff to loose on the side of the road. I managed to slip the old belt out with ease without removing the right side peg mount and the idler pulley. I just hope I can get the new belt on and the axle in without takin off the peg assy and the idler.

You got that pulley boxed yet?

You don't need to jack the bike at all.

Many screws on the bike are tight the first time due to thread locker, but after that they come off no problem. Three screws on front pulley cover, two on the swingarm brace, loosen the footpeg mount (optional, but helpful). Remove rear pinchbolt, roll bike backwards about 15 full turns, old belt should fall off, a brand new one will go on with some effort, replace swingarm brace, then roll it forward 15 more turns, replace pinchbolt, replace front pulley cover, then be on your way.

(I think that was it off the top of my head)

I don't have any spare sprockets at the moment, in fact I am short an 1125R one.

My swingarm section has 4 bolts, 2 hard to get to without removing the peg assy. I was able to fit the new belt up between the pully and peg assy with little effort.
New belt is on but now for the real tradgity.

I KNOCKED THE BRAND NEW FREAKIN WHEEL OFF ON THE FLOOR FROM THE ICE CHEST I was using for a table. Bent the edge of the somdabitch and talk about one hell of a bell sound. RINGGGGGGGGGggggggg CRAP! I beat the hell out of it with a dead blow hammer and it looks to be within about .010 of true. Book allows .030 run out. I AM PISSED!
