Check your fuse. Does your horn work? The horn and exhaust valve are on the same fuse.
Good luck.

Have you done the actuator test? I want to say kill switch off, turn key on, go to WOT, and turn kill switch on (DO NOT START THE BIKE). When you cycle the kill switch the actuator valve should cycle as well.

I open the control box and it is pretty simple .The motor just unplugs from the board .I put power to the motor and it ran fine hard and strong .I check all the fuses all good power on both sides and up to power .I did the actuator test and nothing .I checked the wires coming in differnt voltage. all gears and main spring good ..

Hey David. No clue on what's wrong with your actuator, however I can atest to the replacement of the much heavier and complicated OEM exhaust system. I just have a simple Jardine RT1 and love it. The bike runs flawlessly without any tuning or fiddling. I removed the valve motor, cable and bought the little spoofing module from American Sport Bike. Much more simple setup now. And don't let anyone here convince you the Jardine is bad - unless they've owned one. It's the lightest of the mufflers, sounds great(not too loud either), looks good, rust free, very simple and half the money of the others. I might be opening up a can of worms here, but you can't go wrong with the Jardine IMHO. Greg

I wired my muffler open when my actuator went bad in '08 and never looked back - it runs great with my fatter fuel maps and sounds good too - not too loud.

that stock muffler/actuator set up was a ridiculous idea.

YMMV

Djz, when my exhaust actuator failed, I suspected that the plastic gear teeth stripped. That was not the problem in mine. The motor and gears were fine. Here is a pic of the part that failed:

The cream colored plastic tab bent over and allowed the black plastic cam piece to slip by and therefore was unable to rotate the cable pulley.

A new actuator fixed the problem.
