I still have a wobble in my bike at speed, just noticed a clunk noise when stopping. I'm at work and didn't bring my manual with me. I'd like to try and re-torque the steering head and isolator and see if that helps. Can anyone here guide me through the procedure? Thanks. |

Loosen the lower pinch bolts on the triple trees/fork clamps. Loosen the clamp bolt on the adjusting nut. I like to put a mark with a magic marker on the nut at the slot for the clamp bolt. Now back off the nut until it's broke loose and then retorque to spec. Tighten all the clamp bolts to spec. My books in the garage so I'll post specs later if nobody beats me to it! Now personally I like removing the nut and putting some anti-sieze on the threads. This takes any friction from the threads away giving you more torque on the bearings. Once you're done see if the mark on the nut has gone past the slot. That way you know you did some good. If it's still clicking then they need replaced. Been there done that. |

Not meaning to sound like an idiot but this is all on the bottom of the triple tree and not the alen head bolt under the handle bars on top? Do I need to take off the handle bars to tighten that? |

Sorry, I assumed you knew that. Yes, the handle bars need to be removed. Steering stem capnut 38-42 ft. lbs. Steering head pinch bolt 23-25 ft. lbs. Lower fork clamp 20-22 ft. lbs. |
