i took my triple tail and grab handles off this weekend. didn't realize how heavy all that garbage is. i'm trying to think of other extraneous bits i can remove to shave some weight off from the bike.

i'm pretty compulsive with my bicycles, cutting the ends off bolts and what not. the way i figure it, there are 16 ounces in a pound.

of course i understand that this probably will not net any super dramatic performance results. this is more of a "principle" kind of thing. any ideas welcome

Guess your using your Uly as a sport bike only. Not doing much Adventuring : )

The bike does look meaner when that stuff is taken off. Do what you please, it's your bike : )

Between my Uly and me, I'm the one that would really benefit from a diet...

Shave off a few more pounds by changing the battery. Remove the heavy footpeg mounts and change them to XB style. Change out the rims lighter XB ones. Hell swap out most of the Uly crap for the XB stuff and you will easily shave off weight.

Get rid of the back half of the seat. That kick stand is heavy. Take the grill off the headlights. etc.
