After installing the Erik Buell Racing ECM I did notice easier starting and it was just slightly better at slow speed cruising but other than that it really wasn't that much better than my slightly tweeked stock ecm w/ecmspy enhancement. While reading another post here I saw where someones vacuum port cap was missing and since mine is still a little lean I thought I would make sure mine was there before I checked my intake seals for leaks. I pulled the air box off and it was there so no problem. On reassembly I thought I would check my exhaust valve actuator while I was there. It is my third one only this one has the metal gears. I did the cycle test and it didn't move at all. Didn't even make noise. I got the book out and made sure I was doing the test right and I was. I hooked up my lap top and did an EVA diagnostic and nothing happened. Well I seemed to remember where you could turn your EVA off so I started searching and finally found it. Mine was turned off. When I bought the ecm I put a note that said I was running the EVA so now I'm wondering since it was not on if I have one designed for a Drummer etc. I could just turn it back off and wire my exhaust valve open. I do like the sound! Anyway, I took a quick test ride and got to a straight and went WOT and boy howdy did that wake it up!! That's more like it!

I just thought I'd pass that along for anybody experiencing the same issue after installation. On another note, before my test ride I thought I'd check my tire pressures since this is my commuter machine and here lately it hasn't been handling very well. Well the rear was 35 so just 3 psi off, but the front was 26!! That's ten psi off! Well I filled them up and it's truly amazing the difference. When you ride nearly every day you just don't notice things like that because they happen so gradually until it reaches a point that says, hey dummy, this ain't right!!

One more thing, when I turned on the EVA there was a switch to turn on the "white wire". Mine is turned off and I don't know what that is. I left it alone but would like to know if I need it on or not. Anybody know what that is? Froggy?

White wire does not apply to our bikes, so do not worry. Its an emissions related control on Euro XB9's.

Thanks Froggy, somehow I knew you would know that!
