Did this loop Sat evening plus a few more alphabet roads east of gov.Dodge state park.
65 miles of fun. I stayed overnight at the Pine Ridge motel in Dodgeville and bought a Southwestern Wi. road map from the local Kwik-trip and came up with my own loop for Sunday. It was about 160 miles and stayed north of 18 south of the wi.river just a bit east of Dodgeville to hwy 61 at Fennville.
Starting in Dodgeville north on 23 to Miltary ridge rd. west to Q,II,I,PP,P,I,80,Q,G,M,T,61. Breakfast @Fredricks family res.in Fennville. Then east on 18 to Q,G,Q,Spring vally rd, Bowers rd,G,
Snow bottom rd,I,80,Q,M,130,23,ZZ,Z,T,H,Y,YZ,back to the room.
This little loop is a hoot and can be done in 1/2 a day.
You will need a detailed map to figure out the direction but thats some of the fun. Some of the roads were freshly tarred and graveled but were almost packed in and as good as pavement though lose gravel kept me cautious. Combine roads or delete to suit your appetite for adventure. I had a Cycoactive map holder zip tied between the mirror stems so the map was readable on the run and a Garmin zumo 550 to aid the fun Happy motoring l8r bb

I love to ride that area!

I don't think there is a bad road in SW WI. What would be an unpaved goat path in most places...is sweet twisty tarmac!

Barkbuster, you have my condolences on the loss of your Dad. I hope you are doing well.

You guys are right about the nice riding in SW WI. I have been a lot of places on a bike but SE MN and SW WI are some of the best in the midwest. Thanks.

Hey Motorbike

Have you checked in on Storm Fronts?

I live close to you and ride with a couple Rochester guys.

Union_man, I have looked in Storm Fronts a few times and find it hard to use. I wish updates were by date, not A to Z. Any tips on what to look for to sort through all this?

I would like to ride with other Buell riders in our area. Sundays usually are best for me but I may be able to schedule weekday rides if I can plan far enough in advance.

My riding season will end early this year though as I am scheduled for surgery on Sept 27 and will be laid up for 6 weeks. Maybe we can get together in 2011? I have ridden through your town many times, beautiful area! Thanks.

Union_man, It might be a few days before I can read your PM as my home PC is in for repairs. I do almost all of my posts from my terminal at work but need to keep my PM's sent to my home PC. Funny thing is, I seem to have more time to do this stuff at work than I do at home. I will get back to you though. Thanks.

Did another weekend in Wisconsin! This time I based in Hillsboro. I did another loop i conjured up from my trusty kwik-trip map. Don`t have route handy right now but it was bout 200 miles and not very straight. I had wifey along for this one as well as the last one, and tortured my angel st to its end. The original strada on front is toast too!If anyone wants my route i`ll post it l8r like I did the last one.

I live in Sparta, about 25 miles East of LaCrosse, I have learned that most county roads with double letters are almost always fun. Youll have to check out hiway 33 going east from LaCrosse also, It takes you through Wildcat Mountain, It is kinda like a mini deals gap, lots of fun!

Put Mendoro in your GPS and go through the cut if you haven't done that yet.
That has to be the twistiest road I've been on.
It's the last hand done rock cut in the country.

I have been through the cut many times, and it is fun, I have lived in this area since 95 and have discovered lots of fun roads. Just the other day I found that county E from hwy 21 to hwy 12 is fun also, get on E about 2 miles past fort McCoy and go to 12, take 12 in to Tomah and hwy 16 back to sparta. I have done this a couple times trying to get 1000 miles on my uly before winter. only 300 more to go!!

Here is a map. Please put a placemark on the best locations to ride in WI.

http://tinyurl.com/Wisconsins-Best

Try to put some info in the placemark's text box. Add info to an existing placemark if you want to. I put 4 of my favorites to start.

If you add a spot on the map, please post here so we know!
