Looks very handsome in white with the red decals. Blacked out chin spoiler is the only practical way to handle that area.
I might be slightly biased owning both an X and XT but that first shot is one handsome motorcycle.

Mind you, at 5'9" I tend to drag my foot across the seat getting off the X so I would have that seat looking scruffy in no time.

BTW - bonus points for the immaculate lawn!

Hey Gus, great looking X. All I would add is maybe a darker smoked windscreen. What brand are the mirrors and also do you have the decal part number? Thanks.

Thanks Rays. I'm happy with the way it turned out.

Why not just put your foot on the left peg and step over the seat that way? The stand can hold the weight.

Thanks for the compliment on the lawn as well.

Sekalilgai, believe it or not the bike is kind of dirty. I enjoy cleaning the bikes and the cars so they're pretty much always clean.

Desert uly, I've contemplated the darker windshield but just wish I could try it on there to see how it looks before I buy it.

I bought the mirrors on eBay a while back after seeking someone on advrider.com that had bought them for his Uly. I'll try and find em and post the link on here.

Her are the decal part numbers as posted on the Buell website:

Gus, looks great man! How did you change the seat color? Did you dye the existing material or have a new cover made for it?

I got one of the first X's over here and lived through the period of seeing the daily Badweb subjects revolve around broken side stands and pivot points. It never happened to mine but I maintained that point very carefully and avoided over-stressing it to a fault.

Even if the revised side stands can take the weight I couldn't bring myself to do it.

Someone asked me that same question on advrider:
I had it done at an auto upholstery shop. There I picked out the material to match the paint. they took apart the seat and replaced what used to be orange with the white. I had them re-stitched the entire seat with red stitching. That's why I wanted the red decals.

Wow, that looks sweet!

They should have made that color combo from the factory. Did you consider painting the chin fairing white as well? I'm curious what it would look like that way.

Nice job!

The XT's come with it painted and I never really cared much for the way it looks.

Thanks for the pics Gus. Nice job. I couldn't see the stitching in the first set of pics. I think going with the black chin fairing is the way to go too. I was just up in N GA and they were repaving, I have some tar to clean off the chin fairing. I think a white one would look dirty all of the time.

Looks awesome! Love the look of the white. Just curious on what painting process you used. Type of paint, professionally done, etc...

Paint was professionally done during our last trip to WV by a friend of ours that has a shop there. So luckily it didn't really cost me anything to paint. The seat as I mentioned before was done at an auto upholstery shop that he does business with. You can't really tell in the pictures but the paint is actually a pearl white. Ducati pearl white was the paint code we used when we bought the paint. I always loved the color of my GF (wife's) Ducati Monster and although I don't think it would look good on every bike, I though it would look great on the Uly.
