Just a note of thanks to the folks at Bumpus H-D. My recent charging problems prompted me to order a new VR from Bumpus (BadWeb discount). The new VR appeared to be defective, but different than the expired VR. LJ (parts manager) returned calls promptly, helped me double check my diagnosis, checked with one of his Techs to see if there was anything that I'd overlooked, and then cross-shipped a new VR. Yep, Tom and LJ kick ass. Got my spare fan sitting here - apparently for nothing since my stocker, rattles and all, keeps on working - thanks to those guys. All from my post in the WVBR thread, asking if anyone had a spare they could bring along if I needed it. Tom saw the post and emailed me that he was looking; then, that they had one; then, that it was ready to go when I got a chance to call with my CC#. Great stuff. Also, a semi-hijack: big thanks to Zac4mac as well. Also with the fan is a box full of toolkits, courtesy of him and his ordering perseverance. I got a couple of the BIG Buell tool rolls when most of the P&A went on clearance earlier this year, and love 'em. He had one himself at Homecoming, so I asked him if they could still be ordered. He checked; they could; he ordered me three of 'em and now here they are. Now I have one for each bike, as well as one each for the Jeep and for the Ram. Good dealers still exist.
