On a 08XT can you just pull the belt guard and the axle and drop the wheel to change the belt? Or do you have to remove the brake and idler pulley too? | ||

I've never removed the caliper or idler pulley to remove or install the rear wheel. Removing the fender makes it easier though. (Message edited by ulynut on August 22, 2010) | ||

Caliper makes it easier as well. I wouldn't remove the pulley. Once the axle is loose/out you can push the wheel forward to slip off the belt. You can also pull out the pulley some, but it on the studs if you want. Good luck! |
