Having problems with the tripometers, reservometer, and clock. They all reset to zero, about 80% of the time, when the ignition is turned off. Is this a grounding issue? If so, any idea where the ground location for this might be?
Can live with but don't like it!
Any feedback would be appreciated.

Probably a ground splice where the harness jumps from the frame to the steering head. Turn bike on, and sweep the steering all the way from lock to lock and see if it resets during the sweep.

That one is usually the result of the battery cables not being tight enough or a weak battery that will drop voltage too low no start up.

If you can grip and forcefully move the cable ends with your hands, they are not tight enough.

Probably when you penis the bars over to lock it up at night is where the bad spot is.

(The language filter thought I was using the slang for PENIS but meant C O C K )

More funny that way anyways! : )

Natexlh1000, you're right, that is funny! When I first read your post, I thought "what the heck is he trying to say". Thanks for the laugh! I needed that.

This could be caused by several things but on my '06 it was a broken splice in the loom just at the headstock. This is covered in this old post:

http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/142 838/477785.html?1249171124

I have also seen one of the guys here have very similar symptoms caused by a bad earth wire from the instrument cluster. If you have the broken splice I had then you should be able to introduce the problem reasonably easily. If the back-up power for the instruments is removed and then reconnected with the ignition off the instruments will 'sweep' once.

Rays, thanks!

I did notice the gauge sweep while the bike was sitting untouched. So, I'll use that as an indicator to find the break in the circuit, which is probably in the loom guide area.
