I have been trying to get my Uly to run smoothly at idle and low RPM's. I have changed the plugs, changed the plug wires new air filter, done the TPS reset and adjusted the idle. It just does not run well until I get over 3000rpm. I am not talking about vibration. It misses cold or hot in low revs. Can't seem to find a solution.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Test the coil. You will need a breakout box to do it properly though. I don't know where to get one, or know how to use it, but hopefully there's a dealer near you with a competent service department who can help. My guess is it's the coil.

The problem is my closest dealer is a 4hr round trip away and they are not very helpful. Judging by the sound of the "pop", (missing was maybe the wrong description)the intake seals may be the issue.

I will check the the grounds as suggested by Wheelybueller first. It's probably a good thing to do anyway. Changing the intake seals looks like a big job.

Easy way to check intake seals--take off right side cover and spray brakeclean around manifold with engine running.intake seals leaking will suck in brakeclean and change idle.
Job not bad, need to rotate engine down to get to them.

I was able to change mine without rotating the engine. I just cut down an old box wrench to get the left side. Could be done with heating and bending one also.

Well, after checking all grounds I think I got it figured out, had a plug wire slip off the front cylinder. It had so much dialectric grease it would just slide right off. I had to bend the connector for it to fit tight and thought I had it licked until................................
I saw my ECM was cracked! I am not sure what was causing the trouble the plug wire or the ECM. I'll know more in the morning on the way to work, and then I'll call the dealer to see if they have one in stock. Wish I could get one of those new Erik Buell Racing ones!
I checked my seat out and sure enough it was rubbing (thought they had this squared away with the '09's) so I trimmed the underseat where it was making contact, hopefully it wont touch anymore.
My PCV valve was out of the rear cylinder also.
