I'm looking for a used 06 XB12X ECM, since mine has a cracked housing. Has somebody one lying around because he/she switched to a Race ECM? Parting out a bike? Please! |

Why not just buy a Erik Buell Racing ecm? Their ecm is better than oem. I have one for a 08 but you don't want it as it won't work with your 06. Just recently I bought one from Erik Buell Racing and can assure you that is superior to the original. Several other BadWebbers have them too on other year models and they too swear by them. ymmv |

Do the Race ECM's work with the OEM exhaust and airbox? And they are spendy little buggers with $250 +shipping from Erik. |

Yes, the race ECM will work with stock exhaust, you have to specify in the comment section when you order. It seems to have solved my issues plus it dosn't have the EPA crap. |

any ecm from 2004 till 2007 should be fine I have my original 2006 and I have a 05 remapped on the bike, no issues at all, just want to keep the original just in case i want to go back to stock. |

Hunn, you will not regret buying a Erik Buell Racing ECM. They are easily worth $250 in my opinion. I am very very happy with mine. All of the problems my 08 was having are GONE. This bike now runs better than when it was new. If you can come up with the $$ then buy it. You'll be glad you did. |

Is the Erik Buell Racing ECM the same as the race ecm offered by HD? |

Mine's not Erik Buell Racing wrote a map for mine that utilizes the race fueling and spark curves...but also controls the valve in the stock muffler. Happiest that bike has ever been. The HD map is "plug-n-play" - you get what you get, period. Email Erik Buell Racing. Tell them your setup - ALL of it (engine, mods; gearing, any mods or XB9 primary; exhaust, and which one if not stock; air filter, if changed). They will get you one that works best for your setup. |

Thanks ratbuell. I have the k&n filter, breather mod, and stock pipe, with the race ECM. It's okay, but not quite right. I'll take your advice. |

Will Erik Buell Racing do the "Comfort Kit" upgrade on the ECM too? Wouldn't mind a different fan setup and not boiling my right leg and the "boys" for a change in the hot weather here. |

I had an exchange with Erik Buell Racing the other day, based on this thread. I wrote explaining that my 07 Uly wasn't running as well as it could be running. I explained that I have the HD race ECM, the K&N filter and breather mod, but the stock exhaust. My question to Erik Buell Racing was, do you have a product, or service that will make my bike run better than it does now, or would I be better off returning it to stock. The answer was that the ddfi2 was pretty well sorted out by 07; They recommended returning it to stock, as the HD race ecm isn't tuned for the stock exhaust, and let them know how it goes. I wrote back saying that I was hoping that pushing a new map would be an option, but haven't heard a peep. Honestly, the bike is not running bad, I"m just not sure it's perfect. There is something to the race ecm, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it does "seem" better in some undefinable way. Is there a difference between the Erik Buell Racing ecm hardware and the HD race ecm hardware, or is it just the mappings that they have tweaked? I've sucked the maps off the race ecm, and plotted them against stock, so I can see what's happening there, but I'm curious about the Erik Buell Racing model. |
