I couldn't justify the $ for the Trails either.

Had to replace the rear sync (punctured). Went with the Trail ~$160...was in a hurry to get it back and didn't even check the D616...for the $35 I would look at them next time. Like the Trail though...lot of 100 degree days around here and expecting to get a lot of miles out of it.

Anybody actually check the thickness differences tween Syncs and the trail-rated tires or even between the thicker tires?

I was looking at Harley cruiser tires (09 and above)in our size and they are thick.

Plus the D616's can be had for a whole lot less then the new Trails : )

But if the Trails last twice as long...

I had the D616s on my original 06 Uly. They did squirm on the road and I didn't like how they followed every mark in the pavement.

They only lasted about 4K miles and they wore ragged on the edges, which I really didn't like despite being perfectly inflated.

I did prefer the D616s to Syncs on Gravel and I ride a fair amount of Gravel.

I am thinking of trying another set of them and hoping that the problems that I saw were early run.

The price point of the D616s is compelling and I miss that dirt road traction.

I am not crazy about putting a 190 on either and the Scorpion trail does not come in 180 width.
