Found a Ulysses that I kinda like other than the color is Orange. What does it cost to paint the plastic black?? Or is anyone looking to swap to Orange??

Thanks

Actually instead of painting, you could just go to a vinyl/sign shop and they can do any color you want

The vinyl is nice but sometimes not as shiny as I would like as the factory plastic has a high gloss to it.

If your good, and have the right conditions, the Krylon Fusion pretty damn decent. Been using it for awhile now.

One of the red's matches the racing red surprising well. Not factory, but on a whole bike, would look good.

If the bike is in good shape and a great deal, don't let the color scare you off.

Is it because orange is the slow uly and black the faster one?

The plastics only take a few minutes to swap, so ultimately you can buy or trade to get a different color if desired. Spray cans would be the cheapest method, but is the most permanent. : )

It would be about $200 or so in a body shop with proper methods and materials.

To buy the right materials to do it at home you would probably spend over $300. Which will work out if you have about six or eight of them to do.

I have the Black and I liked the '10 Yellow so I purched the yellow tank and windshield. Now I can switch out if and when I want too. I think the two pieces were cheaper than getting the black ones painted. Just something to consider, when you trade your bike some folks might want the orange which is in my opinion a hallmark of the Uly, but not my favorite color.

I had orange and had the tank and flyscreen painted pearl white (and seat reupholstered). A friend of ours did the painting so I only had to buy the paint, and that was like $30.
Really shouldn't cost much though. Especially if you just take them the parts already off the bike.
