No - mine havent failed...yet. Took off rear wheel for tire change & bearing lube ritual. I noticed that on the sprocket side, bearing is flush with the hub. On the rotor side, the bearing sticks out about somewhere around a 1/32nd of an inch. (could be a 1/24th) Is this normal ? I cant remember - even after 5 tire changes. Apparently I'm not very observant...or its early onset of dementia. My wife is pretty sure its the later. Thanks all, j

It appears that mine are slightly out maybe not quite a 32nd on both side equally..But it isn't much at all...

Ok, great. Since nearest H/D dealer that still services uly's is 100 mi round trip - I wont worry about it. It still turns just fine And after all... whats the worst that can happen? "Hey - Hold my beer and watch this". I tried running without the wheel, but the belt just flops around on the jack, and I cant get no traction.

When installing the bearings the first side(I think is the right) is installed to bottom. The other side is installed after the spacer tube and the outer race does not bottom out.

Don't make me get out the service manual to get techincal.....I'm tired.

Hey Etennuly - Thanks! That makes sense. I will look it up in manual tomorrow after we're all rested. Good nite & TTFN, j

The manual says "Press the rotor side bearing in first ensuring it is seated on the shoulder of the wheel. Followed by pressing the alternate side bearing until it contacts the spacer."

Hmmm - have to look when I get the wheel back today - I think mines reversed. HD did the bearing swap about 15K miles ago - good thing we have floating rear calipers.
