I have adjusted my clutch according to the service manual, double checked and did it again according to the video linked in the Knowledge vault.

I have done the procedure 7 or 8 times and end up with the same result: really hard lever feel and almost no clutch engagement with the lever all the way out.

I have 10,600 miles and this is the 1st lever adjustment. The lever feel was getting sloppy and I figured as long I was changing oil and primary fluid, I would do the clutch.

Do I really need a new clutch pack?????

Got to be something simple.

Bear with me.

1) Push adj boot cover up and loosen adjustments.

2) Back clutch screw out, then screw in until you feel the first bit of friction, back off a half turn.

3) Adjust clutch level for desired feel.

4) tighten and pull boot cover down.

My gut feel is that you have tighten the clutch screw to tight. Easy to do

Matt L came over. I was doing everything correct, one of the balls was out of the track and we had to take the ramp out and align the ball bearings. Redid the adjustment, still was not right, took the cover off, put it in gear, rolled it around, tapped on the ramps and the clutch pack 'popped.'

We figure the 1st time I adjusted it, the ball came out of the track and after that, I was tightening everything out of alignment and it took some goofing around to get it right.

It is now perfect.

annnnnnnnd I was doing it right, if the balls in the ramp would have stayed where they were supposed to, it would have been done the 1st time.

Funny how when your balls fall out of their track, nothing works right!

Oh ya.

The video in the knowledge vault shows exactly how to do the adjustment. Watching the vid, told me I was doing it right, just needed to dig further, but I did not know where to start digging.

I was doing it right, the balls in the rampy thing were preventing my success.
