We just completed 2,000 mile motorcycle vacation up to Canada. We were two up with heavy loaded bags. This is still one incredible machine. Never missed a beat. Averaged 46 mpg through a big range of temps and road conditions. I installed a new Scorpion Trail on the front, it performed great. As overloaded as we were the Uly really handled nice in the corners and the straight aways. The odometer rolled over 29K on the trip. It is running as good as ever.

This was my first time to the Banff area of Canada. All I can say is that I am looking forward to a return trip!!

Canadian Rockies - Need to visit them again.

What do you think your total "overloaded weight" was on this trip.

I'm headed up that way myself in about 2 wks, but I am trailering my Uly and 12ss so my son and I [he doesn't have a bike now] can go on a ride thru Banff up north of Jasper to Grand Cache. My son just moved to Kelowna and is doing some kind of relay marathon in Grand Cache over 2 days the end of July. Then I am going down thru Wash., Ore., and Cal. to visit friends and relatives and do some more riding. Will come back thru Colorado for some more riding and hiking and then home to Pensacola. Been looking fwd to a trip like this for some time and will be gone 4-6 weeks.

The Uly tours beautifully. I did 4500 miles in 8 days a few weeks ago and was very comfortable.

I rode to Colorado on my Uly and I loved it! The story in the Tail section. I love my Uly!

Hop_along,

The temps vary so much it is hard to say. There was a cold front that had gone through and the first half of the week was in the upper 40 to low 50 in the mornings, and up into the upper 60 to low 70 in the afternoons. The as the last half of the week we were seeing upper 50's at night and 85 - 90 in the afternoons. The 90's were when we hit lower elevations.

I was somewhat surprised at how low the elevations were. Living in Colorado (our home is at 6,500) we spend a lot of time riding in the 8,000 - 10,000 plus elevations. We would only occasionally hit the 5 and 6 thousand level in the Banff area.

If you're at Lake Louise go on north to the Columbian Ice Fields. Go out on the Glacier and drink some really old water!! Old and Cold!
