I am looking at 2 different jackets. First Gear kilimanjaro and the olympia bushwacker It looks like (pictures on the internet) that the Olympia is more of a mesh type jacket and the Kilimanjaro is more of a solid material that you don't feel the wind blow through? I am looking to buy a Hot Weather jacket. Olympia says 3 seasons. Is that Spring Summer and Fall, or Fall winter and spring? I have also read several reviews on the Olympia and am confused. does it come with 2 liners? One that is warm and one that is waterproof? Can you use both layers at the same time? |

The First Gear K jacket is not a hot weather coat.It is a great Fall/winter/spring coat that is very waterproof.I've had mine for 6 years & it is holding up well.Don't have experience with the Olympia. |

I have an Olympia and I have looked at the First Gear. The advantage of the First Gear is that it has a waterproof shell. This makes it hot in hot weather. The Olympia is not waterproof unless you put in the liner. This means if you encounter rain you're likely to get wet unless you've already put the liner in. So the question is, do you live in Tucson, or Seattle? |

My Firstgear K stays in the closet until late fall. To hot for the summer here in Memphis. I use the Vanson Vent Max from mid spring to mid fall. Elbow and back protection and very breezy. |

After calling Olympia I bought the airglide 3. The bushwacker has one liner, it is both waterproof and has added isolation. not the plan for the summer rain storms. the Airglide has 2 liners. one is water proof and one is insulated. Plus the longer jackets (bushwacker) tend to get stuck under my butt. Plus I love the color

I did not like the short back protection of the Airglide 3 jacket. Look at the Olympia website and the back view. The Viper also has 2 piece liner and full back protection...and the summer meshiness. I just bought the Recon 2 today...like the idea of no liner (cheaper) and zipping off the pants to make shorts! How "hot" is that for camping/hiking/gym? I can always throw a skin over it if I get cold...easier than adding a liner under it at the Superman phone booth on highway somewhere. Might add a Viper later. |

Well the jacket fits perfect. yesterday it was Hot, but the mesh worked perfect. I noticed it was not as hot as my black mesh jacket when standing out in the sun. Now the best part, None of the HD riders will wave to me anymore . Maybe it was because I was riding my XR-650L yesterday, but I really think it's the color. |

I was going to suggest an Aerostich Darien. I love mine, and I've all but retired my Joe Rocket mesh jacket, except in the hottest weather. The vents on the Darien are so wide that they let almost as much air through. |
