Anyone use the Palmer Products Adjustable Windshield Mount with the stock XT screen? How do you like it?

I like mine. Not perfect, but much better than stock. I still get some light buffeting but nothing like the blast I was getting coming off of the stock shield. Riding with just the stock XT shield was just plain painful. I'm 6'1 and adjust mine all the way up and tilted back as far as it will go.

Has anyone tried the MadStad adjustable windshield? If so what are your thoughts on the product? Good or Bad

I just have a huge 18" Slipstreamer Hellfire windshield on mine. It works great.

Just installed Palmer brackets on My Uly XT this morning went for a little ride and at sixty-five or so mph it feels like a different bike. I was not getting that beat up buffeting like before when on the open road. FYI I am 6 feet tall.

Get or make a set of stiffeners for the Palmer brackets.
I got my 09 Uly from Frank with the brackets sans stiffeners and the windscreen shook violently at idle.

I made a pair for free out of junk in my garage.
I painted them black after I took this picture.

Badrap, I purchased and installed the Palmer Brackets after only putting about 300 miles on the stock setup. I used the stock XT windshield. So far, it is one of the best accessories I have installed on the bike. A very high quality product at a good price. It even included a combination wrench and an Allen wrench needed to install the brackets!
I would recommend some sort of bracing, either boughten from Palmer or homemade as others have done. I chose to stiffen the plastic flyscreen by adding a piece of stainless steel on the inside. The bracket mounting bolts pass through the plastic flyscreen and then through the stainless steel stiffener plate and a nut is installed on the inside. I have no external braces. Works great, no problems so far. Thanks.

Have had a set of Palmer brackets on my bike for a couple years now (I'm 6' even). Great item with the XT windshield. Really makes highway droning much more comfortable. I initially was going to make my own brackets, but for the amount of time it would take to make these by hand, you're much better off just buying the Palmer brackets. I'd give 'em an A+
I may add a set of the supports some time in the future as my carbon fiber windscreen (which is really thin) flaps quite a bit when the bike is idling......

First I tried a Laminar lip. Pretty good. Not great.

Then, I tried the Palmer brackets. Pretty good. Better. No buffeting but lots of noise.

Then, I did what you're not supposed to do (for the last 1000 miles or so) and stuck the laminar lip back on with the palmer brackets.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH HHHHHH, with the palmer brackets on the lowest position and lip just above top of XT screen it is perfect. The screen doesn't flex any more than it did without the lip.

Yep, it looks a little funny, but so do the brackets and it works.
