i used a 06 low seat for 1 week and sold it.It was hard as a rock. I now have the 06 tall seat and am 100 % happy, 5'9 08 XT | ||

Is there a good place to see a visual comparison between the low and tall seats? I think I might have the low seat on my '07 and at 6'3", I don't really need the low seat AND would prefer the increased seat foam and the chance to not roll/slide/tilt forward. | ||

 I use the '06 Low seat, and prefer it to both the '06 Tall seat and the '07-up seat. I had the rear section reupholstered in red after I bought my XT. For me, it's the most comfortable seat I've tried. | ||

if anyone else would like to trade a brand new low for a tall, i'm interested as well. if nothing else, the stock is a lot better for me. | ||

I have the stock '06 seat and the low one. I use the low one for local rides and the tall one for trips. | ||

I have an '06 Uly... Insisted that the dealer throw in an '06 low seat or I'm not buying! I eventually traded the '06 tall seat for an '07 seat which is pretty low... it is so much more comfortable than the '06 low torture device... just a smarter - more advanced design... put it on and never looked back. | ||

The '06 low uses the same seat pan as the others. It has a much lower rider seat profile with gel pad inserts. At first it does feel much harder than the stock seat. It is much better for cranking it on the twisties where you will be shifting your body from side to side. The material is less grippy and makes the transitions easier. | ||

I'd love to trade a low-mile (1300 miles) 2008 stock seat for an all-black tall, if anyone is interested. If I don't find one in the next couple of weeks, I'm going to order a tall. Opinions differ widely, but the tall seat seems to work better for confident and experienced riders (those who don't mind balancing the bike occasionally) and those 6 feet and taller. I know at Buell the low seat was thought better shaped in front (narrower and more ergonomic) but at the expense of shallow foam thickness. But there was never sufficient demand to redo a tall seat that was also a little skinnier and tapered near the airbox, so the 2006 is still the best out there if you can stand the height. | ||

I got the low seat when I got bike in 06. It came with standard seat. Standard is very comfotable for short trips however seams along side hurt after about 4 or 5 hours in the saddle. Use low seat exclusively last 4 years. sold standard this past spring. I have 32" inseam and I am thinking of getting the lower pegs, but i have palmers hiway pegs for long boing rides to the good stuff so perhaps not. Airhorn is next for me. | ||

I replaced my stock 08 XT seat with the black 06 tall seat and have ridden about 500 miles on it so far. I am 6'0" and 34" inseams, 225 lbs. For me, this new tall seat is a huge improvement. Thanks. 08 XT stock left, 06 Tall right  08 XT stock front, 06 Tall rear  06 Tall Seat on 08 XT  |
