Well my trip to the Dragon ended in a mishap. Lost it in a curve on the way up. Road was wet, bike probably had to much loaded on it for camping. Took it through a row of bushes, down a 2 foot embankment into so wet muddy grass. I suffered a bruised shoulder, ribs, and pulled muscles in one leg. After we got the bike up found a turn signal tore off, lost a mirror, oil cover scoop is torn loose, bars are a little bent, and the lower push pins for the windshield are missing. I was probably doing about 40 miles an hour. Was able to ride the bike to the campground but due to my injuries canceled the rest of the trip and headed home in the morning. Will put the old girl back together when I am able to move again and get the parts I need. While I dont encourage anyone to test the crash worthiness of the Buell, I have to say she did great.

I have the Pirelli Scorpion Syncs mounted. They truly transformed the ride experience from the stock Dunlops that were on there.

Glad you're ok. April 2009 I too went down on the Dragon and broke my collar bone, fractured ribs and a vertebrae in my neck. The Uly was hurt too with a broken turn signal, severely bent handlebars and damaged left hard bag plus other minor damage here and there. With the damage to both of us I had to tow her back to Kansas. Still don't know why I went down though; I don't remember what happened. Good luck!

That you could walk (limp?) away means you probably had gear on. Ribs are nasty to heal as the muscles between them move on every breath. Get better fast and back on the bike as soon as feasible!

Good aim on the wet muddy grass. That stuff is a lot softer than tarmac!! I had a rear flat at 75 mph and headed for the ditch along the interstate. The five feet tall weeds slowed me right down and left me upright and unharmed. Or, most likely, my guardian angel!! I'll take the grass anytime! Good to hear your only banged up, could have been much worse. Heal well!
