The earlier Ulys (06) had solid or braided lines from the cooler but the 2010 for instance has lines with a mix of solid and rubber.

I just noticed that the fittings allow a little movement of the lines in the 2010 for example. There is no leaking but the lines can move a little at the fitting it seems.

Would this be normal for the new fittings and the lines?

In a word....yes.

Old style (07-earlier) had -AN fittings that screw on.

New style (08-up) have a "jiffy-tite" snap-fitting. Pop a retaining clip off and they disconnect.
