I asked this in the "unflash" thread, but it was a bit out of place!

I have an '06, and I have the fan shroud and RSS on their way. Can anyone tell me what changes are made to the ECM for the fan operation? Can I make the changes in ECMSpy?

Obviously, detailed info is needed....not subjective stuff like "my fan comes on less"! : p (unless spy has a "less fan button...maybe it's next to the "more cowbell" button??)

The updated ECM flash for the comfort kit only applies to 08-up XB's. It's not available for earlier models. Even without the ECM change, you will benefit from reduced fan operation.

I understand that, which is why my question pertains to making the changes manually, through ECMSpy.

Are those parameters accessible, and what would be the specifics?

The parameters don't exist on the DDFI2 bikes.

Hughlysses

Not everyone notices a difference in fan operation with the comfort kit install (did it and have Race ECM on my '06).

Fan runs the same, is just quieter because of the shroud.

"The parameters don't exist on the DDFI2 bikes."

Interesting. Does the new version of spy have any more than the old one?

Has nothing to do with ECMspy, the ECM just doesn't have the programming for it.

Terrible1one3- Wow- I can't imagine why that is. I can ride until I run out of fuel without my fan coming on until I shut the bike off. It still comes on when I run above ~70 MPH or so AND the outside temp is above 70 degrees or so, but my fan operation was drastically reduced under most conditions.

Maybe you have some issue making your Uly run hotter than normal?
