I have the Touratech catalog and just looked at it installed on the Ulysses. They have the triple tail pad and grab handles removed in the pic. I am not sure if you can leave it in place but once the rack is installed, it looks like you will not be able to use the triple tail pad at all. I could be wrong but that is what I see in the pic from their catalog. If you decide to get it, let me know if you can still use the triple tail pad. I also thought about purchasing this a while back.

It's too expensive of an experiment. I'll just flip the triple tail back, load the duffels on it and have my girlfriend use them as a backrest. It's only a short trip.
Thanks everyone.

I thought this looked nice as well. I was thinking about one so I could mount my givi top box to it. But too much $$$. Not so sure I want a top box now anyway.

I emailed tourtech about this a while back. They said the triple tail and handles HAVE to come off for this rack to be installed

The touratech setup requires you to remove the rear grab rails. I prefer (and use) this;

Have the rack on my '06. Love it. Cleans up the look of my Uly and very useful for strapping a 12 pack to when you arrive at your destination!

I made one similar to that and it worked out very well.

I ordered the side racks and rear turn signal re-location brackets from Harley about 2 weeks ago, they told me about 4 to 6 weeks. Then I ordered a set of HB Gobi's from Eurotech, should be in by the end of May. I'm hoping all this works together. When and if it does, I'll give the rack extension a try.
I'm using Rev Pak soft luggage now, look's like droopy drawers.
THanks again everyone for the input.
