I have had this small but quite annoying oil leak since my last *mechanic* worked on my bike. It is coming from somewhere near the rear head close to the exhaust.

I replaced all the rockerbox cover gaskets, and I had hoped that would solve the problem. The gaskets were pretty chewed up, and showed signs of oil leaking.

I still see oil, but it looks to be coming from lower than the rockerbox covers. My question is, is it possible for oil to leak from between the top of the cylinder and the bottom of the heads via the head gasket?

There must be something I'm missing, I'm quite sure I replaced the gaskets properly, but I can't seem to lock down the location of the leak.

Any input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Phil

Phil; Clean the area thoroughly, then spray foot powder all over the head & cylinder. When you run the engine, the source of the oil leak will become apparent.

...and yes, it is possible to leak oil from the headgasket.

Damnit, thanks Ratbuell. Unless I'm a complete moron who can't install gaskets, it has to be coming from the headgasket.

Oh well :/
