First I had to pickup my Air Conditioning Condenser and various parts.

Then my Alaska Leather Butt Pad came in the mail!

Then I had to take my trailer wheels to the shop. Had one bad tire, and one bad wheel... so I needed them to swap the good tire to the good wheel.

Versatility is the name of the game! I love this bike!

but hate this muffler. cough cough. sorry, wrong thread.

I bet that thing would wheelie like a MO FO with those tires hang'n on the back.

I bet you're right! The weight was noticeable. But alas, I didn't try. I was trying to take it easy with the tires.

Finally! A novel answer to the perpetual "tire options for Ulysses" question.

Those are a bit high for training wheels. I guess you could really lay it down in the corners with confidence that you will keep the rubber side down : )

So I did about an hours worth of homework (2 hours worth left...) and got bored.

So I went out and made so home-made "Memphis Shades".

The idea was one clamp at the bottom, and wedge the top in so it can't move. The material turned out to be to thin to 'wedge' but the bolt seems to hold it. I had the clear material in the garage already, and the clamps were given to be my a generous Bueller, so cost to me has been $2 for stainless hardware. The clamps supposedly came from Lowes, and they seem about perfect for this job. In true Buell fashion, they are 2 INCH diameter, but have 10 MILLIMETER threaded hole.

I don't know if they'll hold up or not, but the price was right to give them a try! I'd prefer to round the corners, but I'm not sure how. The dremel with the cutting wheel only likes straight lines..

round it off with a belt sander or if you have access to a stationary one. even easier. then if you get some of the buffing compound for plastic(rouge), then you can use the dremel on it to buffout the plastic.

I originally ordered the Medium Cruiser, but Beth (owner) called and told me I really want the Pillion Type 1. I went with her recommendation and it's perfect. I order the Rally Special http://www.alaskaleatheronline.com/servlet/the-143 /Pillion-Type-1--dsh-/Detail and added the nose strap.
Then punched in "deadsheep" for a 10% off AdvRider coupon.

Mike, will you ever stop coming up with great ideas? Your like, my skinny little hero. It would be nice to live next door to you, although keeping up would be impossible.

Where did you get that "one last ride" sticker. I'm guessing you were on it, but maybe not. I can I get one?

Since you bought the "Rally Special" rather than the "Deluxe". Can you feel the seams in the butt pad?

There are no seams in mine, and the material looks absolutely perfect and consistent.

I'm not really sure how it could be any better quality. Maybe I just got a good one. I think it says with the rally special you may get seams or inconsistent density. I didn't.

So you are riding this dirty fun loving "truck" and you are worried about the color of the muffler?

Oh funny man! You make me laugh!

Did you add the nose strap or did you order it that way?

I have that same butt pad without the nose strap, every time I stand up to stretch my legs the wind makes the pad fold up and I have a heck of a time getting it back down! I wish I knew you could add a nose strap!

A quick update... I'm still running without a windshield (waiting on the Palmer brackets). But the little wind flaps made a NOTICEABLE difference! I'm super pleased, and now I have to decide if I want to find some thicker material, and make a more permanent and longer lasting setup.

With no windshield, the wind is still 'in your face' on the freeway, no question, but it's now smooth! I feel comfortable in saying, the buffeting is nearly gone!

That buffeting comes up the frame and shakes our heads. Your Ohio Shades blow it off.

Yes! Ohio Shades!

I'll have to try to make some "Massachusetts Shades"

No reason they have to be clear, right?

No reason at all. I personally don't like the look of them at all, so I went with clear so they are not noticeable. Only one person has noticed mine so far.
