Are you buying from a private party or a dealership?

Bike is at a dealer.
The tag on it said 8500, but that might have changed with the comfort kit.
Trying to figure what to offer... :/
I'll add bags later on (I'd like a set of outdoorsman bags but they're impossible to find) not a fan of the journeyman bags.
I might be able to in the near future fab up some aluminum panniers... :P

The comfort kit costs $120, don't let them fool you into thinking it ups the price by like $500.

If they put it on, there's probably 1 or 1.5 hours labor involved plus the flash. Most dealers reflash for free, though...I'd cap it at around $200 for "reasonable" pricing.

It's a great bike. Don't hesitate too long; like I posted above, there's less than 30 left. EVER. Get it, ride it, and you won't ever look back : )

My first impression was a little high, what without the cases, but then I reread the "under 50 miles". It's worth something to know it's not been abused. I wouldn't pay extra for the comfort kit (or at least I'd tell them that : )) See if they'll throw in the first service for free. Oh, and is it a 3 yr warranty that comes standard? That's pretty good - means until Jan 2012? As RatBuell says, 30 left, EVER.

Got my 09XT for $7450, 28 miles last October. I worked hard for the deal. But my warranty is only good till august. Got a demo bike that was never "demo'd" but warranty started from day it went into "demo" service. - Which was the day it rolled from the factory.

If it already has the comfort kit and the tag said 8500 it shouldn't have gone up. If it has, I would not offer more than the 8500 you first saw it at. Make sure to check the warranty, see if this might have been a demo like mine. Remember HD is offering the dealer up to $5000 dollar incentives to sell these bikes, use that to your advantage, be bold, but respectful. Offer 8000 with the comfort kit and see what happens.

No bags, but does it have racks on it?, have seen some like that.

All that said, If you have done all the research have ridden one - push to test ride this one - and are sure this is the bike for you, go for it. Like one BWB member said 1000 either way is fine, just as long as it's the bike you really want.

Good luck!

No racks for bags.
Salesman sent me an E-Mail that the price is $9010 OTD which is like 8760 for the bike.
Thinking of offering 8500 OTD with a triple tail pack (he said they have 3 in stock).
Too low?
Not low enough?
What are your thoughts?
Oh, if it makes a difference I'll be paying in full upon pick-up.

The dealership I go to told me $7,900.00 for a brand new '09. I took a few days to think about it (the bike had sat there for almost 2 months) and when I came back to buy it (3 days later), it was sold. So, I ended up buying a 2010 corporate bike with 737 miles for $7,100.00.

I say get the bike for the price they are asking $8500, the bike is already knocked down in price from 11,495..It was definately worth it at 11,495,at least mine was! (09X)..Happy riding

Paying in full should give you a little help. $8,500 with the 3tail bag sounds like a good offer to make. If he says no, showing up in person and talking to the next guy in the food chain could be very useful. Cash talks baby! Be bold, yet respectful. I'm pulling for ya!

12x9sl: 7100 for a 10 with 737mi! Wow, best deal I've heard so far from anyone. I would have hopped on that like a mad dog. - What no "mad dog" smiley, bummer.

Xb's do NOT get a $5k incentive. That number is on 1125s only. Xb12 is 3k.

20-something left. I love my 06 to death and will never get rid of it. If you really want one....I'd jump now while its still there. As noted above - they're worth every penny of 11495, regardless of a 3k incentive.

If you don't really want it...which it sounds like to me...let it go to someone else who will snatch it up in a heartbeat.

Ratbuell: To clarify, yes, I do REALLY want it!
I just don't want to pay more than I should...
I'm willing to pay what they're asking, but better to save what $ I can for the upgrades/accessories, riding gear, and gas!

You are still getting it at 30% off MSRP, many of us paid MSRP or higher. Hell mine was $15k after all the goodies.

re: cash talks & 30% off.

The cash part doesn't matter to the dealership because they're getting it either way - they're getting full payment from the financing company in the case of a loan.

As RatBuell pointed out, HD is giving them 30% incentive so at 8500$ they're getting the full price, so they're not doing you any favors.

Natek, if you really want it then go for it - 8500$ is not bad at all for a brand new bike, and if they throw in the tailbag then bonus! You wont be sorry I think, I got mine last December and with 2 exceptions have only ridden it so far this year (the Monster is pissed). They're a complete hoot. Of course, my condolences that it's blue : )

I just don't want to pay more than I should...

Well then...what you *should* pay is what makes you comfortable, not what the interweb says you should pay. This is a great forum...but nobody on here (well, except my wife) knows my budget, and my true level of desire for things. So...I don't ask "what should I pay?". I'll do some research and see what pricing is out there (and on 23 bikes, they can pretty much name their price at this point), and I'll check my budget...and if it fits and I want it, I buy it. If it doesn't fit, I don't. And it's nobody's choice(fault) but mine.

23 bikes is NOT MANY. Hell, it'll only fill three automotive garage bays. Maybe two if you park 'em close together. That is not a lot of bikes.

Again...and I know this is hard for some folks to understand on a real, literal level - there will be NO MORE of these bikes when these are gone. If you want it, and you've found one...GET IT. Once you ride it, $100 this way or the other won't make a lick of difference. Trust me. Buy the bike if you can afford it, don't if you can't...and STOP WORRYING about what other people pay.

And....who says they have to do a buyer "any favors" anyway? The price is fair. It is not marked up (and I'm sure they know there are only 23 bikes out there...supply/demand means they can pretty much ask whatever the hell they want), which, honestly, is what I'd start doing right about now anyway.

I bought my 2008 in 2008 for just over $12000 with saddlebags installed.
Anything under $9K is fair, I'd say.

I bought mine for $8500 OTD back on Oct. 15 2009 as new with 24 miles on it, comfort kit was included from factory. I found a set of Journey side bags and racks for $730 OTD at another dealer. No tail box or rack. I bought the Buell back rest soft pack for $109 and its a decent addition to the saddle bags.

So go buy the damn thing if you have not already done so......

I'm going to buy the thing. : D
I can't until the weekend though because it's 140 miles away and between work and school I don't have the time to get up there until Saturday.
I'll just have to be more frugal when buying accessories for her to balance out the cost! haha

If you are going to buy it, call up and tell the salesman that. Put some cash down to reserve it if you have to.

Once your in, go in. Don't let someone beat you to the punch!

I don't know what to tell you to do for racks, but here is your bags. (read the whole thread first)
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=54 9028
When my account recovers from paying obama I would like to pick up a set.

Congrats on the new bike.
Before you even leave the dealership, open the owners manual, look-up the suspension settings for your weight, and set everything. The last one I sat on in a showroom had everything turned up to the hardest positions. The dealer "should" help you make these adjustments since it really is a safety issue.
