Helping a buddy with a 2009 XB12X. Service manual says that the data link connector is under the left air scoop. Can't find it there! Where is it?

Mine (granted, an '06) comes out left front corner of the seat, in the little gap in the seat rail just behind/below the airbox.

My '08 left side between rear subframe rail.
External acquirable.The XT models have a plastic air deflector over it.
