I have the regular Buell bags on my ULY and the Left Latch broke at the pivot point at the spring. Can you order just the latch or as I stuck with the bungee cord holding it shut?

You'll need to swap your lock cylinder over to the new latch, so do not throw it away!

Speaking of bag issues, I am buying a new outdoorsman top case. Is there a way to synchronize the locks so I can use the key to the saddlebags?

Plexus seems to work well to keep the bags clean.

The only way I found to key all the locks together is by ordering a new, full set of HB lock cylinders from a vendor. I re-keyed all my latches for all four of my bags (I have the stock set, plus a HB 50L topcase for more space).

I looked and looked and looked, but there is apparently no way in the HD system to order a particular key code for the HB stuff...and a HB vendor canNOT get Buell key codes, they are specific to Buell. So...for $6 a lock, I re-keyed everything and use red keys now instead of blue : ) Bonus is, if I ever need new locks again...the HB codes ARE order-able so I can get only what I need.

If you want all your "open" latches to match and you use your "on/off bike" latches less frequently...put the mismatched topcase lock cylinder (just the metal part; take off the big nut and swap it) on a sidecase rack latch. Then put the code-matched cylinder on the new topcase. All the cylinders interchange, regardless of position, and if you do this you can open and close everything with the one key.

NO, NO, NO!
Call Bumpus HD and ask for Jonathan Roberts their parts manager. He has the part #'s from Harley to order the keyed tumblers to match your original bag key. I think they were something like $8 per tumbler with a matching number "blue" key.
I broke one and ordered two, just in case, and they work fine.

Or you could be really awesome like me and luck out by getting a new top case that just happened to match your existing key set.

Well maybe not awesome but really lucky.

Rat,
Jonathan told me he had to call HD to get the correct #'s as he couldn't find it either.

AHA. Usually (at least with an HD key), you enter the part number, it recognizes it as "a key", and brings up a dialog box that asks for the code. Guess they didn't bother/think to do that with the Buell keys...
