I did a search, and came up with some conflicting info. I have a '08 XT that I bought used, with a Jardine. HATE IT!! The sound is okay, but miss the jacking points, and the chin spoiler mounting.
I have a line on a take-off "stock" XB muffler, but the shop doesn't know what it came off of. What am I looking for to id it as useable on the Uly? I know that other XB12 mufflers will not mount without sending off to Drummer or Odie (which would be okay with me).
It's only $50, and may be worth picking up even as a core. What does everyone think?
Thanks for any info.

Brad

That's news to me... I thought all the 12 stock can's were the same, and all the 9 stock cans were the same... but I am not an expert.

Xb12 stock mufflers will work on a ULY. The difference is the exhaust exit. It is further back on the Uly because of the longer kickstand.

the kickstand will hit the tip of any original non Uly exhaust, I put one of a lightning on mine because I liked much more the exit and had to cut a bit of form it as the stand hit it when it was up.

As noted, all 9 cans are functionally the same, and all 12 cans (with the valve) are functionally the same.

The only difference among models is the outlet/tip design.

I guess I misunderstood some things. So other than a little trimming on the tip any XB12 muffler will fit?
That's good news.

Uly X mufflers are reinforced along the bottom to take the brunt of rocks, and curbs and stuff.

Are Uly XT mufflers reinforced the same?

All XB mufflers are reinforced to be used as a jacking point, not as a bash plate. If I took a pipe off an 04 Firebolt and a pipe off an 09 Uly, and then I cut the tip off, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference, because there is none : )

Just wanted to add some general info on mufflers. The 9 and 12 cans differ in more than the valve. The 12 actually runs through a smaller diameter pipe than the 9 (when the valve is closed) before it escapes. Both exit at 2". The 9 exits through the far right pipe while the 12 leaves through the center.

I am installing a Jardine muffler and K&N air filter. Do I need to do ECM or fuel mapping on this after I do these mods?
