The edges of my '09 XT seat cut into my legs and the seat kind of leans me forward. I was thinking about getting the seat dished out a little bit, kind of like an SCG. Anyone get this done or DIY? Pics/reviews?

Bill, Sounds like the exact same problems I had with my 07 stock seat.

The cure cost around $100.00. Buy the Stock seat for the 06 model year.
It is around 1.5" higher then the 07-10 stock seat.(commonly refereed to as the "high seat". If you were able to look at a cross section of the drivers position, the high seat is more rounded, where the 07+ seat is flat with quick transitions to the sides.
I have put around 1000 miles on my new 06 seat. Both of the above problems are gone!

The tall seat is way more butt friendly in my opinion. I had the bike two days and could not stand the seat. Called my dealer and they could not get a seat from Buell. Discontinued. They did do a dealer search and found me one from a dealer up in Michagan. They sent it to my dealer for free and I walked out with the new seat for $112.00. It was night and day different. Some say its taller but its really not because your legs point more down than out like on the low seat. Find one and buy it if you can. Good luck.

The 06 high seat is back in production. I think HD saw the demand was large enough and had the vendor make another production run. I bought mine in February of this year.
Plus the new 06 high seat does not have the seat joints that pass under your thighs like the original did.

Thanks, I'll call Iron Valley tomorrow. 100 miles through southern Lancaster and York counties today convinced me! Towpro-did you get my pm a couple weeks ago?

Can anyone give me the part number, availability and price for the black tall 06 seat?
Towpro, can I ask how much you paid for yours? Did your dealer have to get it from another dealer?
I would be interested in trying the tall 06 seat on my 08 XT also. Problem is I am too cheap to buy one.
If any of you buy a new tall black seat and then decide you don't like it, I would be willing to buy it from you if the price is right.

I tried to copy and paste it but it wouldn't show up in the post correctly- half of it was replaced with**********. I'll try it again tonight.
