I have a 2009 XB12XT with the stock bags and mounts. I would like to sell my stock bags and get some top loading ones. What options do I have? I seen on this site some bags that would fit but I can't find that post. Also what would my stock bags be worth?

Depends on the condition, new they aren't cheap though. Google Journey saddlebags set 42lt.

Go for the Hepco and Becker Gobi's.
Search around this site and you will see a few people that have used them with great results.

I have the HB Gobi's. Fit right on without any modifications whatsoever.
Got them used off the advrider.com site.
They show up once in a while in the Parts thread for about $400.00. Mine came off a KTM. IMHO, these are the cases that should have come stock on the Uly.
The other option is aluminum or Pelican's - most any ones will fit with the Happy Trail mounting pucks - you would need the MK625 Kit.

Weird, I was just wondering if those would fit on the stock mounts. Maybe a winter purchase - I'm not a huge fan of the Journeys.

My Journeys are in new condition. Will the Gobies still allow room for a passenger? Is the Gobi the same size as the Journey?

Passenger = yes.
Size = not as big at 37L, but given the top loading venue, I get about as much in as I did with the clamshells.
