I realized that my favorite rides aren't necessarily the ones that are the most fun. I took my favorite ride today - I rode Uleen into Madison and got groceries. The reason I like that so much is that it demonstrates its utilitarian value and how it fills needs in my everyday life. It makes even mundane chores a little better. I spend a whole lot more of my life in the everyday than I do in adventurous pursuit; I like using the bike for as much of my life as possible. It's more of a tool than a toy and that's the way I like it.

I need to go out of town for work on Thursday. (I normally work out of my house)
Forecast is sunny and over 70F

So I will bomb down the freeway to get there in the morning and then take a 4 hour leisurely ride through the back roads home. Nothing better then getting paid to ride

I use mine, weather permitting, to go do estimates. It's no so hot for hauling tile and mortar. Cement board is out of the question.
Will also ride to the store for milk, eggs, cookies, etc. Home - store - get milk - ride home. Home - store - get eggs - ride home. Home - store...etc.

It amazes me how many minutes I can shave off my commute when I ride versus drive. The better acceleration, maneuverability, rock star parking, and tendency to haul ass makes up for the time spent putting on/taking off the ATGATT. The commute home in rush hour during the summer is the only drawback...A/C tends to win that contest most days of the week.
