Don't know if I've ever heard a specops or not, but I love the sound of a drummer. If I ever replace the stock Uly exhaust, it will be with a Drummer. (or the EBR race pipe that dreams are made of)

They are both fantastic pipes. The Drummer costs more, but has a nicer look. Both will give what you are looking for.

One uses the servo exhaust and one doesn't yes? How do you screw with the valve?

EBR has confirmed via email that a race exhaust is in the works, just may take awhile. They also stated that the preporgrammed race ECM will work well with the Spec Ops muffler and K&N. I will be going with the spec ops because it does retain the exhaust valve.

I have Drummer, buddy has SpecOps, both on '04 12Rs. Both sound the same from the bike, but the SpecOps has a little more 'twang' to a passerby. Like throwing a 5lb sledge into an oil drum. The Drummer 'thuds', and I've been mistaken for a built chevy 350 before. Both make Harley riders jealous.

SOTP-dyno sez SpecOps seems to make more hi-end power, but the Drummer is king of low rev torque. I routinely cruise 'round at 2k and it will still pull.

With stock ECM and K&N, both pop on decel a little. It's right on the edge of too lean. Seems ok with hi-test gas (haven't melted the headers yet).

good info nadz, I need to buy a pipe made already but I can't get a hold of Spec Ops. I dropped an email and cell call, no reply yet. I can't ride pipe-less for 2 weeks or what not waiting for mine to be built, and cannot afford an SS drummer. My bike is my only transportation and I can't be without it. any one have an extra laying around or... would let me borrow theirs till mine gets made?

sorry for beating the horse. I checked in the knowledge vault and couldn't find any thing, chalk it up to my poor search skills thanks to every one else for all your great input.

I bought an extra muffler from I think it was Buellster.com for hundred bucks so I wouldn't have to go without. Going to send it to Odie in May and put the air filter, race ecm and the muffler all on at the same time. We'll see how it goes.

So like... I am now the new owner of Brag918's Spec-Ops pipe. Can't wait... there goes the neighborhood.

I will need to get new muffler straps? (1)-front and (2)-rear (American Sportbike has them) Nothing else?

You need nothing. The only thing you need to worry about is the perma-grin you are going to have after your first ride.

I get so many comments on the sound of the bike when i let it warm up in a parking lot or on the street.

Enjoy it man.

BAM CHICKA WOW WOW!!

I Love this pipe!!!

Bike seems to be fine, alittle backfire on decel but not bad at all. Your positive I won't need to load a different map? I have ECMspy and 06/07 race maps and stock maps. No TPS reset? Just let it learn?

Mike, since you have an '06 and ECMSPY, just fatten up the bottom row of the race map by 10-20% (at least the rpm ranges where the backfiring happens), and that will get rid of the decel popping (lean condition).

anything between stock and drummer?
My neibourhood has a no noisy motorcycles policy,

I'd like to get a bit more sound but I think the drummers would be a little too much.
