Which tire IYO is best for the Uly?
I do a little off roading and I ride on a lot of chalitche and river rock roads.
I have a Scorpion Sync now.
I just got a nice nail in my rear tire and it only has 1000ish miles on it.

I am hoping to put one on the back before I leave for a 1000 mile trip around PA with lots of stone roads in June. But I am waiting for someone to try the 190 on the back first to make sure it fits fits (and works safe with the sync front tire)

I hear it is much thicker then the Sync. I hate the idea of a flat tires out in the middle of the boondocks, then limping to a bike shop to pay for an expensive replacement and the only thing they have in stock is a design I don't want : (

I went to the local bike shop and was looking at those but they want to much for them in my opinion at least at the shop. Ive been looking around online. Going to call around to some other shops tomorrow and cyclegear.

I will also be trying the Scorpion Trails, although that advrider reviewer only got 3000 miles out of his, so that's not promising at all.

It's hard to go on what someone else got in mileage. There are guys here that can get 10K out of a rear tire, and others on that same bike and tire only get 4K.

Dunlop 616's work good for the type of riding I do.
May not want to use them on a track day though.

I'll second the 616's, and would use them again. They didn't hold up well to long interstate rides, but fine on average curvy roads. 6500 on the rear this set.

Do the 616's have any thicker carcus then the sync to stop rocks from letting out the air?

From what I've heard the 616's are tougher.

I had Syncs on a previous bike. The 616 does have a thicker carcass than the Sync, but it's still on the flimsy side for true rough riding. For the mild stuff, I think the 616 works great: good traction for what is essentially a street-only tire. (The Sync is very flimsy. You'll see if you change it yourself.)

The 616's are thicker than the syncs because they are actually intended for some minor off-road use. The syncs are in fact made to be strictly on-road tires.

I have a set of Scorpion Trail's on order now, so I'll report back here in a few weeks when I get them installed. They are intended for some minor off-road use, are are reportedly significantly heavier duty than the syncs.
