Will a Jardine pipe off of a 2003 XB9R fit an '08 Uly? I know there won't be an exhaust valve on it but would it work otherwise?

Yes, but I don't recommend the Jardine, it is junk compared to the rest of pipes out there.

there may be better pipes out there, but i'd hardley call the Jardine junk.
I absolutely love mine, and 6K miles after install it still looks new.
like i say, there are better pipes, sure, but if yer lookin for somthing cheap with a nice sound, it might just be the ticket.

If cost is the issue there are still better pipes. For $125 and up you could have your stock pipe chopped, or you could DIY. There are threads that show you how!
A friend used some plans and had a local car muffler shop do the work. $60
...or just ride with stock and save up the money until you can buy better.

Here is the way I see it...

The Jardine was not made specifically for Buell.

The Jardine was not a top performer in the Exhaust Shootout. http://www.americansportbike.com/

More importantly,

I have read too many reports catastrophic failure of Jardine pipes.

I found this thread without much looking. I am sure that if you do some homework you will find more of the same.

20k miles on my Jardine and I just pulled it for what I thought was a long overdue repacking. I had one loose rivet and the packing is in great shape. Could've gone much longer. I use the "butt plug" in it but I modified it on a lathe to open the hole a little more. Next oil change it goes back on for another 10K!

I think it was either an 1" or 1.25". I opened it up to 1.5" and put a bigger bevel on the backside.
