Who's up for a 8 month, 40,000 mile bike ride around the world? Sounds crazy to me.

If you ever scrape up the extra scratch to do an Edelweiss tour, I highly recommend it. They run a first class operation, and the owner Mr. Wachter is a class-act. Since the wife and I were part of the more "agressive" group of riders, he treated us to a personal tour and bought us lunch atop a ski-area in Lichtenstein.

If I win lotto I'm on that trip.

$101,200 for rider and $55,600 for passenger. Your bike and you foot the airline and food/visas/incidentals/insurance/etc. I printed the whole 28 page document out of sheer curiousity. Would be a lot of fun.

Hopefully those on this trip have been to the US before...or the ride from San Diego to Los Angeles will be all they know.

Don't get me wrong, I'd love to see the world by bike...but first I would like to see more of this great country by bike!

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I'd have a great time if I went, but if I had the cash, I'd rather take a trip on my own schedule. I'd like the flexibility to see what's around the next bend. To ride long and hard on the days I felt like it and explore a small town all day, if that is what appealed to me. I guess I'm just not the tour group kind.
