With a baby coming this summer, I'm gonna have to sell my 08 red xb12xt. It's bot just under 4k miles on it with gps and the aprilia mirrors. I'm trying to figure out what its worth and NADA only has the xb12x price. What have the 08' xt's been going for? Should I sell my gps seperate? It's the buell garmin one. Thanks for the help |

As a general rule you get nothing for accessories. The extra cash you spent on the GPS you won't get back from the person who is buying your bike. I would sell it separately if I were you. |

Which Buell GPS is it? Quest (older style), or Zumo? Unfortunately - and I own one and I love it - the Quest family has been discontinued. The Buell Quest was a Quest I, and you had to reload maps if you changed regions because it didn't have enough memory / storage space for the whole country. My Quest is a Quest II model, with nationwide streetlevel maps so I don't have to reload. But...if it's the QI from Buell, it's not worth much anymore because it's outdated (my wife's Nuvi makes my Quest look like an Atari!). Solid, works great, small size, great battery life....but the industry has moved on. Now, if you have the Zumo...call me Also check out http://www.kbb.com/motorcycle/retail/2008/buell/xb 12xt-ulysses/230609; it shows the '08 XT at $7525. |

A new, 09 XP with bags OTD from Beartooth HD here went for about $8k. It's gonna hurt when you sell it unless the used market bounces back hard on the Uly's. The mount is probably worth more than the gps. Good luck. |

70 west sold a 2008 X for $5500. Don't know why NADA doesn't have the value for an 08 XT? NADA on the 09 X is $8910. NADA on the 09 XT is $10,075 $1,100 price difference between the two 09 Ulysses. NADA on the 08 X is $7895. Going by the difference on price of the 09's, maybe add ~ $1000 to the 08 XT ~ $8895? Local BMW dealer has an 08xt for $7,999.99. Bike has a Cee Bailey screen and the owner put an XB12X front end on it with the 47mm forks. Bike has 2960 miles or so. Is it worth that price? Here are some pictures of it. http://www.bobsbmw.com/motorcycles/images/used/3A0 0714/P1190884.jpg http://www.bobsbmw.com/motorcycles/images/used/3A00714/used%20bikes%20feb%2018%202010%202%20009.jpg http://www.bobsbmw.com/motorcycles/images/used/3A00714/used%20bikes%20feb%2018%202010%202%20007.jpg http://www.bobsbmw.com/motorcycles/images/used/3A00714/P1190886.jpg (Message edited by GS1100GK on February 23, 2010) |

Gs1100gk - That price sounds a little high, but if you can nab it for say $7k, then go for it. Also about the front end, the plastics easily swap out in minutes, it looks like he is still running the 43mm forks. That bike also has the low seat (a little lower than stock), and possibly a bent hand brake lever (hard to tell in that photo). |

Froggy, thanks for the input! Didn't notice the hand brake lever being bent or the lower seat. The writeup said a 47mm fork, may have to take my micrometer with me to verify. |

Froggy: Did they change the levers between '07 and '08? You're right, that level looks bent, at least it bows a lot more than mine does on my '07. GS1100gk: It looks like somebody at Bob's just looked at the Buell site and copied some info down for the specs. I think they simply didn't realize that only the X, not the XT got the different forks in '08. The problem with Bob's or any other shop is they tend to price consignments and trade-ins a bit high. There really isn't a whole lot of extras on that bike,so a 6,800-7,300 price would be more in line with what I've seen around. Wayne |

No change to the lever. It could just be the angle, but the clutch lever is mirrored to the brake so if when you look at it in person you will be able to tell. The 47mm forks could be just the specs they grabbed off Buell.com, they probably got them of the xb12x. If you look at the bottom of the fork, you can see the axle is in line with the rest of the fork, vs the 47mm forks are slightly behind the fork. 47mm:
43mm:
Also, the X is taller, so if he had the 47mm forks on the front end would of been raised. |

Good Catch on that Froggy. Makes me wonder if the bike had damage at some point and just put the X fender on the bike then. |

GS, trust me from tons of first hand experience, there isn't much damage you can do to these bikes. I dumped my Blast 6 times on my way home last night. Broke both mirrors, bent a shifter, and possibly some other minor damage. Hell I even rear ended a car on my Uly and it will be good as new once I put new forks on it. |

Tell that to the 1125R section, where I get flamed and called a fool for asking questioning someones idea for frame sliders. (Message edited by froggy on February 24, 2010) |

List it on everything. Check your local deli's, around here they have free books full of classifieds for motorcycles and boats and junk like that. It might be worth spending the few bucks to get it listed. |
