Been married now to Mr. Uly since last August and riding almost daily in Yuma...working during day in RV park.

Here are some thoughts (maybe for Eric's next ventures) for us air-cooled jugheads. I think the muffler should have been the fuel tank location. I think the frame should still be tubes...chrome moly. I think the pipes could have converged under the seat and exhausted out a single hole under the tail light. Like a Yamaha Apex snowmobile.

I occured to me yesterday (and I am sure this is NOT the first time it has come up...just for me) as I was picking up some overpriced Harley oil and studying the wind flow on a Sportster with a big shield. Other than the tear drop tank...no wind to blow up and shake your head. A decent screen with some drop shields around and below the headlight shoots the wind out around the tank but lets the two heads get plenty. Our "tank" is lower...and covers the rear head pretty good. It is not like our seats are that much forward from a hog seat but enough to make em higher (which I like). Tube the frame and open up the heads...tank at bottom (6 gallons) and reroute the pipes.

Results...lower center of gravity, bigger tank, cooler heads and no fan, easier to manage wind, narrower...

Anybody thinking like this?

No thanks, I don't want a Ducati!

I kind of like mass centralization!

A fuel tank as a skid pan sounds scary.

Look at a Victory Vision if you want a scary fuel tank.

Think "airbag". They flank the triple trees / headlight.

I always wonder.. if Erik has had the fuel in frame design in mind since the mid 80's, what's on the drawing board now?
