Good article. Some of the comments are pretty interesting. It was sad to read the part about the factory sale, and how he knew the people that operated them, and now they are jobless.

Wow! is Erik smart. Unfortunately none of this will be printed in CW.

To put it online is one thing but to print it in the mag where the japanese and other bike makers involved in racing put adds for their bikes just won't happen. This line from Erik in the article seems appropriate "It fits what they sell, and no one else makes 600s except for them, so they had the perfect racket." the big 4 wouldn't want something written so negative about their involvement in racing and unabliity to win against a supposedly inferior product. You would have to admit that aside from the actual adds for their bikes, most motorcycle mags are just adds for most big manufacturers anyway with every glowing bike review. Buell has never gotten a fair shake from these mags and it all seems very convenient to me when I hear stuff like this from Erik.

Plenty of time for a redneck to holler out on the TV show, "Dayum, look at the power of that Hurley-Dayvudson!," or some equally edifying treatise.

Erik knows Scott Russel well!

Everytime Scott Russel talked about when he rode those Harleys (VR1000) I wanted to throw a helmet through my TV!
