Does the seat have that seam along the side along with the material that never dries out on the riders area? I have heard conflicting stories about the new tall seat, please enlighten us on what you received as I might be in the market if it's different from my original 06. | ||

I never had an issue with the 2006 material drying out. Or staying wet after a rain. I did like the wet suit texture. The new seat has the same texture but is more like vinyl and seems a darker black. The 2006 seats looked like they were faded. The two seams across the top of the seat going from front to back are not there as you can see in the picture. Also the rear of the seat is the same texture and not smooth. That looks a lot friendlier to the thighs than the 06. Thanks for the pics, looks like I need to put in an order. On my seat when I come out from the hotel or tent in the morning and it rained or had heavy dew it seemed to take all day for the seat to dry out with me riding it. You could wipe it off but it was still damp. Anyway, the new one looks like an improvement. | ||

Oh no, another order rush on seats! Sure glad I ordered mine on 2/08, and HD accepted the order. Hope I am in line before everyone else  I ordered N0025.1AKFYW I am expecting to receive an black 06 style high seat with no thigh seams. I had one on order 10/29, but HD changed it from back-ordered to obsolete so everyone's order got canceled. I guess the supplier decided to make some more because there was still demand? | ||

N0025.1AKAYW is the old number N0025.1AKFYW is the number I received. no seams There are 5 part numbers under the seat and N0025.1AKFYW is marked with a white dot | ||

I think the trick here is the yellow color...my new high seat that I got in December is yellow (my choice) but with the seams. I have been on them all day the last two days...I feel em. I would like to order that new seat even though it is black. Slower black...but I need to slow down anyway. | ||

So I ordered one today from local ex-Buell dealer...Eastside. I told him N0025.1 AKFYW and he said it was already another number...anyway...I said just order it! We will see...need to slow down a little. | ||

Well if any of you guys get the new black tall seat and don't like it I'd trade two '07-up for it, one of each color. I've gone back to the seamed '06, seams be damned I like the height. I can deal with the too-softness. | ||

N0025.1AKFYW is the correct number for the all black, no seams seat. Just got it today. I am seeing the ducks are heading north, could only mean it's getting close to trying it out! | ||

Got mine yesterday also. First impressions: I was only sitting on it inside the garage. Stock 07 seat (4000 miles), with me wearing sneakers. I can almost touch the ground flat footed. With boots on I am flat footed. New 06 seat, I am up on the balls of my feet, but still feel safe. The 07 seat feels spongy compared to the new 06 seat. Not saying the 06 seat is hard, but it is firm. I am sure it will soften up with time. I also feel the problem of sliding into the tank is now solved. |
