I always slide up on the air box cover, it hurts after an hour and there is this hard spot in the middle wish just rubs me wrong so I sent it off to Spencers Motorcycle seat mods. For $90 he flatten it out and put in this hi tech honeycomb foam in it. His service is great, 48 hour turn around. I will not know how well it works for a while since I really do not like riding when the temp is under 30. But from a short ride it feels good, softer then stock we shall see. Considering having mine done. I then searched the web and saw that others had the same issue. I gave up after the last attempt last Fall. He has done a few Uly seats and has standard mod that he does. Though a friend of mine had the same experience as you did. He went with Sergeant to redo his Uly seat and is very happy with it. When I traded the '06 in on the '08 XT, I kept the seat and had it recovered to match the Racing Red Plastics. It now looks really good and feels really good, as well. I like Spencer's work, and he has excellent prices.
