FWIW -
Some of you know me as "The crazy old man who plays with luggage."

Well, for those who are interested in luggage options at others' expense, I've done it again (actually twice this week, but I'm not putting up the pix of the Softail bags on my XT).

Started out by getting rid of the Journeys, put on Ortliebs, then Pelican 1430's (too small), back to Ortlieb's, then Pelican 1440's (too big), and have finally settled on - for now anyway - a set of Gobi's.

They fit right in without hassle and are easily locked or removed:

Put the X peak back on and changed my light mounts (Optronics) to the beak itself. Can't test ride this because of a foot of snow on the ground outside my garage door that extends to somewhere south of Denver.

Might as well take the XT front fender off and get the X lower fender.
Did those bags fit on the Journey racks with no mods?
Part # and price please.
They look good.

Looking for a used X front lower fender now.
Bags fit with absolutely no mods. They are the stock HB Gobi's, don't have the PN. These were used cases off a KTM for about half the cost of a new set- $655.00 retail. You can find them on advrider quite often. Just wish I could have found a set of black ones.
Also of note, you can leave the triple tail on. Had to remove it for the Pelicans to work. IMHO, these are the cases that the XT should have come with.

Where did you order your Optronic lights from? Their web site offered very little information and no prices. Doesn't look like you can order from their website.

Itileman,

I put those same lights on my Blast (it needed them). Traded it for an XT after Blasty went to Sturgis. Would like to put those on the XT. How did you wire them and do you have a pic of where you put the switch.
