So i just did my 10k service; plugs, K&N, Drilled airbox, Comfort kit, oils, rerouted breather, all of it. I purchased a ecmspy wire and attempted tps reset.

Did reset, followed instructions in the help menu. When i set the AFV to 100% i noted that mine was set at 115% before changing. It was set there from the last service from the dealer. When i set it to 100, The bike would not start. Wow all this work and now bike won't start. SCARY. Changed back to 115, all good.

Bike was at 138 C, i think operating temp. The question i have is in the tps reset. I reset it with engine off to the set number of 4.6/5.1. but when i start it the idle is a little high and when i adjust down it moves the tps numbers. Is this normal or do i need to fine tune it to clear out the tps to the right idle speed.

Also should i do some fuel maps changes to accomadate all the upgrades on the bike to get the most out of all the custom work.

2006 Uly, Portland OR, June 2005 production date (one of the first?)

Thanks for any help or insight.

Yes, when you adjust the idle, it will adjust the TPS setting. That is why it is recommended that the bike be fully warmed up before doing a TPS reset. The bike will naturally raise the idle when cold as part of the cold start enrichment, so if you adjust the idle then, it will be too low when it finally goes into normal idle mode.

Also leave the AFV alone for now. 115% is a little on the rich side, but we will worry about that once you fix the idle.

That TPS number of 4.6/5.1 (or whatever it is in the manual) is just a guideline to get you close (to a proper idle) after a TPS reset - it is NOT a hard 'n fast number.
Set the idle as you see fit, per the manual based on RPM’s, or whatever works for you. An idle set too fast may cause the engine RPM to hang up as you close the throttle and it tries to settle back down to idle.

The TPS gets reset only after the engine is fully warmed up, and off of the cold idle enrichment cycle.
