So I read a couple people waiting for an ETS sensor.
Is this Electronic Temperature Sensor?
Is this the thing in the air box?
How does one go about taking care of an ETS?
Do you ever clean it?
everything in my air box looks like it has a thin coat of oil on it. Are people still changing the Crankcase vent hoses to stop this oil in the air box?

I believe it is the engine temp sensor, screwed into the rear head. I am not aware of any maintenance needed by it other than the wiring being delicate. The sensor in the airbox is the IAT, intake air temp sensor.

Thanks, So I guess I need to change the thread title to IAT since that is the sensor I am talking about.

Yes it is the engine temperature sensor. It mounts down in the top of the rear cylinder head. It has a single wire lead.

There is nothing to do to maintain it.

I left the crank case ventilation system alone on mine. I just wipe out any oil that may accumulate when ever I have the air box off.

A key component to keeping a mass of oil from building up there, is to run the oil level on the dip stick at the two bottom X's. The level seems to stay there. Putting more in pumps it into the air box and or burns it.

Yep if the oil shows on the dipstick, you've got plenty.

Thanks! That's all I been doing is wiping the oil off when I got the air box open.

Once spring gets closer I will be changing oil in both cases, so thanks for the tip.
