There was a thread a while ago, can't find it now, I wouldn't mind getting an update. I sent him a homemade card (a large Buell Decal)

Anyone know how he's doing?

I'll give this a bump in the hopes that someone will remember. The original thread was a story about a Uly owner, a bus driver who was beaten by a passenger.

The thread was moved from here and I can't find it. I would really like to find out how Tom is doing.

From Joe:
Tom is still in ICU, we haven't been able to see him yet. He has had his jaw wired - the tracheotomy tube is out. Had his face reconstructed just before Xmas. From what his family is passing on he won't be returning to work. His injuries are that severe.

Rumors persist at this point. His condition may have improved. He is no longer listed as a patient at RAH. He could have been transfered to some sort of rehab hospital or another hospital that could serve his condition in a better way. Or...the RAH is no longer sharing patient information to callers. At this point Tom or his family aren't willing to share any information - no new updates on Facebook. Will follow up when I know anything else. Thanks for your concern.

Still rumor, Tom is apparently doing much better. Rumor also says that he will have further surgery on his eye. He is apparently up walking and talking. Will keep you posted.

Joe,
I'm not sure if you have contact with Tom, but if you do please extend a get well soon to this poor man. Every time I read this thread I get pissed all over again.

Mike

Highlander 51, I don't have any contact with Tom. His wishes are that he spend his energy recovering. You can post stuff on his Facebook page http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=190354340953 &ref=mf

Will keep you posted. Thanks for your concern.

I met Tom last summer down at Heritage and he sure is a nice fellow.

Thanks for the updates, it's such a terrible thing and I really wish him all the best and hope to see him on the road again.

Tom is doing much better, talked to him the other day. He is home now and said he has nursing care 24/7. I did tell him that I had posted a bit here, he may chime in at some point. We are all relieved that he has come so far in his recovery. Said he is looking forward to the riding season. He said he still needs more surgery. Winter still has us in it's grip here in the "Great White North".
Thanks for your concern.

This is good to hear! I hope he can move forward and get back in the saddle soon. He's got people pulling for him here.

Thanks Joe for the update.
