If you like the Outdoorsman bags but wish they were a bit bigger, there is help for you, without going to the Journey bags.
The Outdoorsman bags are Hepco & Becker 30 Liter Junior bags. Hepco & Becker also makes 40 Liter Junior bags. They have the same dimensions in Length and Height, but they're roughly 3" deeper.
We just bought a set from a Moto Guzzi dealer for Terri's Ss for the ridiculously low price of $300.00. I guess he bought a bunch, and now he's trying to move them and generate some cash flow.
Anyway, it's a damned good deal, and I just thought I'd share it with folks here.
I don't want to violate board policy by putting up details here, but if anyone wants to know who, what , where & when, e-mail me at nmweast at verizon dot net

can you post a picture? Do they fit the same? I might consider bigger for trips only, and, keep the standard outdoorsman for around town.

I think these are the same as one guy had at Last Ride.

The Outdoorsman have, if you look at them, a main body "bucket", with a narrow "lid". These, the lid was just as deep as the bucket. If that makes sense.

Rat, the lids are the same. The body or "bucket" on the 40s is about 3" wider. I'll post a picture tonight when I get home from work

John,
Suppose a person could just replace the 30 liter lids with 40 liter lids? Sage has 30 liter outdoorsman bags on his 07' and they are a bit small.

Craig, the lids are the same; it's the body or "Tub" that's deeper. Notice where the latches are to get the proper perspective:

I have te 40L Juniors and like 'em a lot. They're definitely wide, but I can get my full-face helmet inside. I did not get the turn signal remount kit that comes with the package - seemed ridiculously expensive. (That should explain the hack-job signal relocation.)

Aaah. I must have seen the seam at Last Ride and thought it was the lid gap. Those're the bags, though.

Those are nice, Crusty. Email sent. I need to figure out the side rack situation, because I am without side racks. Although I do have a top rack from Palmer Products...

I'm interested, just need advice on how to mount. And is the top outdoorsman available through HD at some point?

John,
I'm assuming the $300 price is just for the bags or did that price also include the frame racks for a Guzzi?

Top rack for Outdoorsman and Journey cases is the same. Only the side racks are different.

Craig; With the mounting racks, he wanted $375. I thought that was a pretty good deal; but when he said he'd sell just the bags for $300, I had to jump.
