Im planning some long trips for this year and need to mount my Ez-Pass on my Uly. I was wondering if you all had any suggestions on where I can mount it on the bike.

Cheers,
Adam

I keep mine in the map pocket on my tank bag. Works great. Others have mounted theirs under the flyscreen.

I would have thought that it would fall off under the shield. I dont have a map pouch or tank bag. Maybe I need to look into one.

Once you get a tank bag, you'll wonder what you ever did without one! Year ago, I resisted getting a tank bag for the longest time, cause I never thought I really needed one. Now, I wouldn't go on any ride of more than a couple of hours without one...

Well worth the small investment for a good one!

Mine is under the seat in a small storage bag. Works great and is out of sight.

I don't carry it anymore. Just sign up and get your plate in the system, and then just go through the booths without the pass. It deducts automatically. Also if you are real good, you won't trigger the sensor and wont get charged : )

Oh yea, be careful at the tollbooths with the arm that comes down, they hurt!

Tank bags are an essential touring accessory. I can`t imagine being without one. I`ve used a suction cup EZ-Pass holder on the windshield, which failed and it wound up falling off into the street. Luckily, I swung around quick and grabbed it off the road. Since that incident, I`ve put it in the tank bag, or in my sleeve pocket in my Aerostich jacket. I also put it in the top, of my saddle bag when loaded up.All those methods worked, ok. I was not aware that you could sign up and not use it at all. My plate is registered with EZ-Pass already, but I will check out the website to make sure. Not having to bother with it at all is the best way to go.

That isn't the intent of it, but if for some reason the reader doesn't read (regardless of car or bike), it takes the photo of your plate and says Call EZpass or similar. When they run the plate they see you have an account and they figure its one of the .1% of times it doesn't work. It was always hit and miss at best when using the EZ pass in various places including under the flyscreen, so I just gave up and leave it at home. I now play musical licence plates when I travel just in case. On the Masspike the readers don't register at all, and I haven't been charged for those trips yet.

I fastened mine to the inside of the lid of the topbox. The sticker side is pointing down and the top is pointing forward. I've never (to my knowledge) had it not work.

The sucky part is what happened when I towed the bike up to CT from MD for a ride in MA (it was combined with a trip to my in-laws with my wife and I needed the bed of my pick-up to haul stuff up and back). I ended up paying for the truck, trailer and bike at each toll station. A triple whammy! I'm trying to get a refund but it doesn't look good....

I use the suction cup holder on my tall windshield, and yeah, sometimes the engine wants to shake it off. I need a better system.

I tried velcroing it to a stalk on the handlebar, but it wouldn't read it - it doesn't like to be connected to metal.

When I'm on the Harley (no windshield) it's a little dicier. There's nothing more "thrilling" than having to time your arrival and gear at the booth, coming up behind some cars, because you have to pull the EZ Pass out of a pocket with your left hand and hold it up in the air, then put it away and get back on the gas. Like I said, I need a better system.

I attach mine to the inside of my windshield with two small strips of heavy duty velcro. That way I can take it on/off easily, and I won't forget to take it home if the bike goes to the shop, etc. I have never had a problem with it falling off or vibrating loose.

I would not rely on only the license plate. I have had friends pulled over when the transponder didn't get picked up and had to wait while the man looked it up, or worse - got a ticket they then had to deal with. Yes, they avoided paying the fine but still got pulled over.
I got one of the wide black ones for cars with metallic anti-glare (or whatever it's for) windshields. They design them to be mounted with the front license plate, but I just zip-tied it to the lower triple tree. Now I don't have to worry about forgetting it. Except the time I trailered it and double paid - once for the Jeep and once for the bike.
